About the Facility

The premises comprise the reception doma (earthen-floor) lounge, the "Brewer's Heritage" relating the memory of the place (the former brewing hall), Wakatsuki Saryō (the restaurant) where local ingredients and vessels are savoured, and the all-exclusive-use accommodation spaces.

From the entrance, the wa-modern spaces continuing into each room honour traditional architectural thinking, creating a sense of overlapping space and light. While every room is reserved for a single party — assuring privacy — the layout and lines of sight blur the boundary between inside and out.

Also, to honour the time of letting yourself surrender to the memory of the land, we have intentionally pared back excessive equipment and overstated hospitality. As such, there are no televisions or fixed phones, and only the essential equipment has been retained. Rather than the "pursuit of comfort" offered by global luxury hotels, Wakatsuki has prioritised the "creation of space" — letting the senses of body and mind move toward the land of Tsuwano.

For any needs, please use the reception at the doma lounge or the dedicated phone connecting to our staff.
